Artwork inspired by heavy music and the human experience

(Portrait by Michael Wimpy)

Sour Leaf Studio is a hybrid physical and virtual space I created to showcase my work, collaborate with amazing people, and express my inner world. Here I’ll share my artworks, my takes and experiences with artistic growth, things that inspire me, and more.

My artistic style is developing as I explore techniques and the joy of creativity. The phrase “heavy and bright” sums up my themes: I combine death- and horror-related imagery with chaotic, abstract techniques in vibrant colors. I enjoy playing with texture, geometry, and color theory to create juxtapositions and pieces that are open for interpretation. I use bold black lines and soothing colors, movement, and lots of swirls. Other-worldly landscapes, moons, eyes, faceless figures, and automatic drawings appear frequently in my work. The core of my style is inspired by 1970s vinyl album covers and animated films. I also draw inspiration from the works of Wassily Kandinsky, Nicholas Roerich, Hieronymus Bosch and other masters.

I am accepting commission requests for 2026, and would love to collaborate with dark artists! Connect with me through the button below and let’s make something rad!
